CONFERENCES

To facilitate contact amongst retail academics and promote research and educational developments the EAERCD organises an annual conference on a two year cycle.

  • The International Conference on Research in the Distributive Trades Series

Continuing the established research conference series previously initiated and organised by CESCOM at Bocconi University in Milan. Full conference papers are peer reviewed, and the best conference papers are published in a special issue of the International Review of Retail Distribution and Consumer Research.

The next conference in this series will be hosted by the retail group at the University of Surrey, England from July 15th to July 17th 2009. The call for papers can be obtained here.

  • The Education and Themes in Commercial Distribution Conference Series

This series commenced with the formation of EAERCD. Initially focusing on educational issues in commercial distribution, in recent years this sequence has evolved to focus on specific themes for example case studies, retail innovation and retail branding

The most recent Conference in this series was held at Brunel University, England from 27th June to 30th June 2006. The theme was Social and Experiential Retailing'.

In 2008 no EAERCD Conference is planned, but colleagues are invited to submit pages to the relevant track at EMAC 2008, to be held at the University of Brighton, May 27th to May 30th 2008. The call for papers can be found here.

The organisation of EAERCD Conferences is managed by the host institutions concerned. Specific questions concerning these events should be directed to the institutions and contact persons named.
