The Institute for Retail Studies at the University of Stirling was established in 1983 to act as a focus for the academic and applied study of the retail industry. It is now one of Europe's largest University based retail institutes and has developed a reputation for offering a range of high quality education and training programmes to the retail sector as well as undertaking research of an international standard.
We hope you will take a little time to browse through our site and learn more about what the IRS does and how it may help you. The following pages are designed to provide an overview of the various types of activity that we undertake, the services we offer and the links we have with retailers and other academic institutions.
MBA in Retailing - Now recruiting for MAY 2010
The MBA in Retailing is unique in that it is the only MBA that caters specifically for the retail sector. It has been developed with the practising manager in mind and allows the individual to study at a time, place and pace which suits them best.

The programme is modular with each subject (known as a Module) being studied separately. Launched in 1988 the MBA in Retailing places an emphasis upon individual coaching and tuition. It has positioned itself as a quality programme that offers a unique combination of general management skills and retail specific specialisms. Unlike some MBA programmes it has a limited number of places available and attempts to keep each intake to a maximum of thirty individuals.
